Based on the announcement made by the Finance Minister, the following SASSA grant recipients will receive inflation-linked increases:
- There will be an increase in the Age Pension (Older Persons Grant) as follows:
- There will be an increase of R90 for recipients between the ages of 60 and 74 as of 1 April 2023. In October 2023, the cost will increase by R10 to R2090.
- A R90 increase will be imposed on recipients over 75 on 1 April 2023. There will be a R10 price increase effective 1 October 2023.
- From 1 April 2023, the Disability Grant will rise by R90, from R1080 to R2080. From 1 October 2023 onwards, it will rise by ten percent to R2090.
- A R20 increase will be made to the Child Support Grant on 1 April 2023. It will be R510 (an increase of ten percent) after the increase on 1 October 2023.
- A R10 increase will be made to the Child Support Grant Top-Up on 1 April 2023, making it R250. The following increases will not take place after October 1, 2023.
- Beginning in April 2023, Foster Child Grants will be increased by fifty thousand dollars. An additional R10 will be added to the rate on 1 October 2023, making it R1130.
- There will be an increase of 90 percent in the Care Dependency Grant on April 1, 2023. A ten percent increase will be implemented on 1 October 2023 for R2090.
- A 90 percent increase in War Veterans Grant will take effect on 1 April 2023, raising it to R2100. A price increase of R10 (to R2110) will take effect on 1 October 2023.
- The Grant-In-Aid program will be increased by 20 percent by 1 April 2023. A rise of R510 will take place from 1 October 2023 to 1 October 2024.
