What To Do About ‘Identity Verification Failed’ SRD Status

Are there any SRD grants offered by Sassa? Listed below are some examples of SRD grant applications that failed the identity verification process.

Before the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) approves SRD grant applications, they are verified with the Department of Home Affairs.

In a ‘Identity Verification Failed’ result, the applicant’s information did not match the information provided by Sassa.

When evaluating applicants’ applications, the agency uses a number of databases. Before granting an application, the Department of Home Affairs will check the applicant’s name, surname, and ID number.

In the event an applicant feels the decision to decline their application was unfair, they can appeal the decision. It will then be up to Sassa to reconsider the request for the SRD grant.

Sassa’s website requires appeals to be submitted within 30 days of rejection.
