SASSA Operating Hours

Opening and closing times vary from branch to branch, but SASSA generally operates from 7:30am to 8am Monday through Friday and 4:30pm to 5pm on Friday. SASSA branches are only open Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and holidays.

Since SASSA branches may have long lines, we strongly recommend arriving early in the morning (before the office opens) to ensure your appointment with a SASSA officer. If you have one, bring a small fold-up chair, as well as water and snacks while you wait.

When you are too sick, old, or disabled to apply or visit the SASSA office yourself, you may have a family member or friend do it for you.
