Online Reconsideration Request
- Go to https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals for SASSA appeals information.
- During the application process, you were asked for your ID number and your phone number.
- Your registered phone number will be used to send you a PIN.
- Upon receiving the PIN, enter it and choose the month you wish to appeal.
- Please select the reason for your appeal and submit it. Let’s wait for the appeal’s outcome.
Telephone Reconsideration Request
- You can reach SASSA at 0800 60 10 11.
- Contact a SASSA consultant by selecting option 3.
- Reconsideration requests can be lodged over the phone.
The appeal process could take anywhere from 30 to 90 days, depending on the type of appeal you file. There has been some delay in the handling of reconsideration requests by SASSA, but the organization is looking for ways to resolve them. Every time your application is rejected, you must submit a separate appeal.
